Sedave’s Tough Assignment

Sedave says he thinks it can be done.

So, it’s necessary to go outside one’s comfort zone when working on ..er.. personal style.

Isn’t that right, Sedave?

Sedave says– don’t get carried away. One can go too far.

Yikes.

Anyhow, he thought we’d like to take a look at his process.

He says this wasn’t going to work for Cyrelian, not because it’s all that terrible, but because he’s just not ever going to acclimate… wellll, not without a mask. Or those sunglasses:

Hmph.

It’s as if Sedave’s never had to deal with Marcus. The elf is kind of whiny but he’s no trouble at all, really. We haven’t even had to negotiate with Maven’s —

Sedave says that’s exactly why he’s so tired, and maybe I should trust his judgment here? Did we not like the work on the island–

Sedave just remembered that we are not supposed to mention that until we get approval. Yeah. Still pending.

Sedave says that the hairstyle is cute but we’re going to try something else. Is there a wig?

No need. The elf says he’s perfectly happy breaking out the illusion magic.

Alfgar– Valley of Outcasts 1

Valley of Outcasts– Jerall Mountains Citadel by Roadhouse699

I played this mod a few weeks ago and got it right up until the end, where I promptly broke it by running too far away from the quest-giver. I have not yet had a chance to go back and play it through again, because I want to start from the beginning and successfully romance one of the other romance-able people. Somehow poor Alfgar messed that one up and ended up Wilaar’s lover instead of Miram’s, Whoops. Poor Wilaar. He must have been up in those mountains a long time, because he isn’t very picky, is he?

I did enjoy the mod very much– it’s a cross between a rebuilding quest mod (like Helgen Reborn or Quaxe’s Winterhold Rebuilt) and a settlement-building mod (like Windstad Mine or Silverstead). It’s meant for you to do the quests and deliver the items over an extended period of time. The fortress settlement you are rebuilding is in the no-mans-land between Skyrim, Hammerfell, and High Rock.

It’s also in its own cell, so you there are relatively minimal conflicts in Skyrim itself. I would say that it would work much better on a less crowded mod list than mine– it’s got a lot of threads going and loading it in on top of Legacy of the Dragonborn, several other heavy quest mods, Campfire, several needs mods, and a whole passel of poser mods probably did not do it any favors. Additionally, I went back to the mod page and saw that there had been some update fixes which I haven’t put in yet. There were a few small random issues that I noticed but as I made zero effort to conflict check or patch it versus all of my other mods, I’m actually surprised I got as far as I did– all the way to the beginning of the final battle.

The voice-acting in this mod is quite good and kept me engaged- that’s always a pretty hard part, and I did enjoy the quests. I couldn’t speak as to how well the combat is tuned as I’m having issues with a combat mod merge that I did and currently would have to tgm through a fight with a chicken. One of these days I’ll fix that and go back and try again.

Alfgar meets Wilaar in Falkreath:

Wilaar is pretty dang cute…I guess I can’t blame Alfgar. He’s also pretty funny, even if he does have an odd taste in taxidermy.

Alfgar decides to help Wilaar:

The Valley and Citadel at the beginning of the quest chain:

Note– the mountains are moving around a bit in the shots. This is probably due to my use of Majestic Mountains– the LOD, even the near LOD is not persistent when you change the camera angle in this valley. I’ve noticed this bug in Hearthfire houses and in a few other places in vanilla Skyrim in the past, so it’s always possible it has nothing to do with this mod. It’s also possible that I accidentally failed to activate the LODs for MM in this load order– I really haven’t checked. So ignore any gaps. The mountains here go all the way around the valley.

It did allow me to get a few more interesting screenshots, so that’s good.

The gate in the last picture is the gate to the citadel–you have to get rid of the surrounding banditry to get it to open.

I think this ENB is Rudy… or anything else with that has a letterbox, which is present in subsequent screenshots. The DoF is a bit off for that, though.I forgot to take notes.

Skyrim SSE Landscapes 2- Dawnstar and Assorted Places

Dawnstar is a place I often go to test lighting and weather mods.

I am fairly certain from the timestamps that all of these are from Skyrim SE but I do not have notes as to the ENB. I believe it to be Keizaal with Patch for Aequinoctum and Obsidian Weathers.

The reason I believe it is Keizaal is that it is crisper and bluer than Rudy and some of the sunsets seem to be more vibrant than Obsidian’s.

These last two pictures were taken only a few minutes apart.

This is the Reach:

Which is very beautiful for a place so barren.

I also have a couple of pictures near Windhelm:

I believe that the first picture here is Keizaal and the second is Rudy, just based on the timeframe. I also started leaving Rudy letterboxed so I could distinguish it.

I got some mountain vistas here and there–

Top two are likely to be Rudy; the bottom two are Keizaal, and the middle ones are anyone’s guess due to the fog.
